The majority of wet mops consist of a
variety of fiber content, ranging from Cotton, Rayon or a blend of the two fibers.
Cotton mops
require an extensive break-in time, but will dry a floor faster than other alternatives.
Cotton mops are highly susceptible to mildew and rot, since they retain floor-borne
bacteria.
Rayon mops require
no break-in. They immediately absorb water, often absorbing seven times it own weight.
Blended mops
can offer the best of both worlds. No break-in time, plus immediate absorbency. The best
choice in blended mops are the looped end versions.
Antimicrobial mops
are a blend of multiple fiber content treated with an agent which stops the growth of
mold, fungi and bacteria. Therefore extending the overall life of the mophead.
