Frequently asked questions about the
Tucker Pole System
Q: How long of a pole do I need?
A: A safe rule of thumb for determining the length of a tucker pole is to use the average of a residential house. An average it's 10 feet per floor and a commercial building is 15 feet.
To clean the windows in a two story home you need a minimum of a 20' pole. To clean a two story commercial building you need a 30' pole. These numbers are averages.
Q: Is reverse osmosis water higher quality than de-ionized water?
A: Actually, de-ionized water is a higher purity than reverse osmosis water. Reverse osmosis will reduce your overall cost of water treatment, by taking the work load off the de-ionized water process. The DI process will reduce up to 99.9% purity. Generally, RO water will produce 95 to 98% pure water.
Q: Do I need detergent to clean windows?
A: Yes, detergent can be very important. However, you want to use the least amount necessary. There are certain jobs, especially initial cleanings, where detergent will be very useful. "Spot free" water rinse is used to provide a residue free finish, but it alone will not cut through all dirt found on windows.
Q: How to determine correct handle length? What model?
A: Simply drop a weighted line from your highest window sill to the ground where the operator will work from. Measure the line and add the height of the window or highest point to clean.
Q: Is the Tucker Pole the lightest water fed pole?
A: Yes, and the aluminum construction is an important factor in saving you time and energy.
Q: Is the Tucker Pole expandable or can the handles be removed to shorten the pole?
A: Yes. For example, the Model 15 can be expanded to become a Model 45 and the 45 can be reduced to be a 15 through 40. The four and 12 foot handle models work the same way. We believe this is an important feature to our type of Ladderless Window Cleaning equipment.
Q: A Tucker user asked about the consumption of water used by his Tucker Pole?
A: The following are the approximate water flow amounts for a Tucker Pole, remember flow amounts will vary depending on type of method of Tucker Pole.

Q=question A=answer

Type Model Consumption
Detergent through Brush C style pole (dual hose) 1 quart per minute
Water through Jet Spray (rinse) C style pole (dual hose) 1.5 gallons per minute
