Defoamer - Foam Eliminator

De-Foam is a concentrated water-based emulsion formulated to quickly eliminate foam in liquid recovery systems. It is used to prevent foam build-up in carpet extractors, wet vacuums and automatic floor scrubbers.

Defoamer is a concentrated, water-based emulsion formulated to eliminate foam in liquid recovery systems in carpet extractors, as well as foam created from soapy residue in the carpets themselves. Defoamers are usually used in situations where a large amount of detergent residue has built up in the carpet.

In certain types of extraction machines, De-foam can be sprayed directly into the recovery hose as well as recovery tank.

Any residual of de-foamer left in the carpet fibers will promote resoiling at a faster rate if product was applied directly on carpet.
DO NOT ADD
De-Foam to carpet cleaning solutions or the solution tank.

Directions For Use

Carpet Extractors:
Shake De-Foam before using. Pour directly into the return tank at a ratio of 1/2 oz. per gallon capacity or suction full strength into vacuum line.

For excessive foaming, increase amount of product used. If foaming occurs during cleaning, spray De-Foam directly into foam in recovery tank as needed.

DO NOT ADD De-Foam to carpet cleaning solutions or the solution tank.

Wet Vacuums:
Pour De-Foam directly in vacuum tank at a ratio of 1/2oz. per gallon capacity or suction directly into vacuum hose.

If Fiber Clean or "Triple" Sanitizer extraction cleaners are used and foaming becomes a problem, check amount of cleaner used and temperature of solution. Both cleaners are low foaming when used at the proper dilution ratio.

Application Note:

When you are extracting carpets and the instruction manual calls for defoamer or you find the carpet is loaded with chemicals from other carpet cleaning methods, it is important to follow the recommendation and place the correct the correct amount of defoamer into the recovery tank or suck it up through the vacuum hose, whichever they direct.

Why? If defoamer is not used in the recovery tank to eliminate foam, the foam from the solution will NOT lift the float up to close off the vacuum system. Instead, it will ride over the float and go straight into the vacuum motor and out the exhaust. If your unit appears to be leaking from the vacuum exhaust, it may not be leaking but actually sucking foam through the vacuum motor due to lack of defoamer.
