Longevity Tips
Careful initial processing is essential for maximum
mop head life. All new mops should be processed separately, if possible, and overloaded 25
- 50% by weight. The "break" operation should be reduced by 3/4, and
maximum water temperature (160F) used. Rinses should be at a low level and the
final two rinses should be with cold water.
Notes:
1. The final rinse water should be tested to
determine the amount of residual alkali. If level is too high, an additional rinse is
required.
2. To insure total removal of excess alkali,
souring may be desired. This should be done according to the recommendation of the
supplier of the souring chemical.
3. All of the processing temperatures are very
critical. High washing and drying temperatures can severely damage the fibers.
