| Sealer
Application: Always maintain adequate
ventilation during all phases of the coating process.
1. Rock the sealer container several times before opening.
2. Pour sealer into a clean, dry plastic pour can.
Do not use a metal pour can.
3.Edge out about 6 inches from the baseboard with a
paint pad or polyester brush. Be sure to feather the edge dry.
4. Pour a 4-inch wide puddle-line of finish,
starting 4-6 inches away from the wall, pouring with the grain of the wood, the entire
length of the gym. Start about one foot from the head wall and stop about three feet from
the opposite wall. Holding the applicator at a slight angle, drag it in a
"squeegee" or "plowing" type motion to move the puddle from one side
of the room to the other. Brush out all turns, stops and other applicator marks, brushing
the direction of the puddle-line. Add finish to the puddle when needed to maintain a wet
edge across the room.
5. Decrease width of the puddle-line around 2-3
feet before the final wall, allowing the puddle to run "dry". Back out of the
room by wetting small sections of remaining floor and brushing away from you in the same
direction the puddle-line was poured.
6. Allow sealer to dry a minimum of three hours
under good conditions, screen the floor with a used 120 grit screen. Do not use steel
wool.
7. Vacuum all dust possible.
Note
- A second coat of
sealer may be applied if additional build is desired. Never apply more than two coats per
day. |
