But SSS Ice Melt is gentler on concrete because as it melts it forms a unique brine that breaks the bond between ice and the surface. This brine prevents refreezing in a way single ingredients can't.

Application rates vary depending on air temperature and overall volume of snow and ice. A 50-pound bag of Ice Melter will cover approximately 820 sq. feet per bag.

Safe to handle
SSS Ice Melt won't burn or irritate the skin, so you don't need to wear any protective gear like goggles or gloves.
Concrete must be at least one year old before any ice melter is used. The reason being, concrete needs a minimum of one year to fully cure. The freeze/thaw cycles that occur in winter is stressful to new concrete. The use of an ice melter may accelerate the freeze/thaw cycles causing the concrete to sprawl and flake.
